Save Williamstown is encouraged by the outcome of the meeting between Planning Minister, Justin Madden

and Hobsons Bay Council.

We welcome the Minister's decision to retain Hobsons Bay as the principal planning authority for the rezoning

process.

It is also important to recognise the leadership Council has provided in fulfilling its responsibilites under the

Planning and Environment Act.

It is important to recognise that our community has fought hard for the right to make sure our voices are heard

in the planning process. This is a victory for due process and local democracy.

This is not the beginning of the end of our campaign, it's just the end of the beginning.
