SAVE WILLIAMSTOWN PRESENTATION

Save Williamstown presentation was by Charmian Gaud, Daniel McKinnon and Brian Haynes. The powerpoint presentation included important proof that the Skelton Oriental Building is most likely 1850 making it unique in the State.

Importantly the expert for the developer entered the building and took photos in July 2014 which showed convict bricks were used, the rafters of the original flat roof are still there, the front room on the first floor has residential finishes, there is no evidence of it being a warehouse, other rooms could have been used for accomodation, the staircase is narrower than a hotel staircase and there is evidence of an unusual beam on each floor which the developer’s expert had never seen before - this is maybe the key to Benjamin Skelton having built the building himself....
